Fire Hose Pack

How to Make Up a Hotel Pack

                  Hose and Nozzle
             Assembly for Standpipes

The use of a short length of 3-inch hose with a 2-1/2-inch coupling,
sometimes called a pigtail, connected to a gated wye, and 150 feet
of 1-3/4-inch hose is versatile and effective.

The 3-inch hose is connected to the standpipe valve and the valve is
opened. An initial attack can begin and a second line can be stretched
from this point for side-by-side operation or the crucial Back-up line.
The use of lightweight components enables one firefighter to carry
a complete package.

Weight is approximately 70 lbs.

              Making up a Hotel Pack

1. Lay the hose on the ground in an accordion fashion.

       *  Folds for Gripper hose System should be approximately

       * Folds for Single Gripper Straps should be approximately 7.5 feet long.

2. Slide straps under the hose and buckle.

3. If necessary, reposition straps, hose, divider, and nozzle.
